Learners often need help at the exact moment they are working inside a lab. Clover VDI places an AI Assistant in My Labs and connects it to knowledge selected for the learner’s group. This approach makes assistance more relevant to the course while keeping content organization under administrator or instructor control.
From course files to contextual answers
An administrator or instructor opens the group action menu and selects Import Knowledge. Clover VDI accepts supported learning files, processes their content and prepares it for retrieval. When a learner asks a question in the AI Assistant, the system retrieves relevant passages and uses them as context for the response.
RAG and Qdrant
This workflow is based on retrieval-augmented generation, commonly called RAG. Instead of relying only on a model’s general knowledge, RAG searches a course-specific knowledge base first. Clover VDI uses Qdrant as the vector database supporting that retrieval layer. The goal is a response grounded in the material associated with the selected group.
Why group scope is important
Different courses may use different procedures, versions or terminology. Group-level knowledge helps prevent unrelated course material from being mixed into a learner’s context. It also gives instructors a practical content lifecycle: import the current documents, test representative questions and replace the knowledge when the course changes.
Good operating practices
- Upload clear, current and authoritative source documents.
- Keep one subject or course version per group where possible.
- Test common learner questions before the course begins.
- Remove outdated knowledge before importing a replacement set.
- Treat AI responses as assistance and verify critical instructions against the course material.
