How LTI 1.3 Connects Clover VDI to Your LMS

A virtual lab is more useful when learners can reach it from the course they already use. Clover VDI supports LTI 1.3 integration, allowing an administrator to connect the platform to a compatible learning management system and provide a more direct course-to-lab workflow.

What LTI 1.3 adds

Learning Tools Interoperability is a standard for connecting learning applications with an LMS. LTI 1.3 uses modern security mechanisms and a defined trust relationship between the platform and the tool. Instead of creating a separate, improvised integration for every LMS, the organization can follow one consistent configuration model.

Supported course workflows

Clover VDI documentation includes guidance for platforms such as Moodle, Canvas, Brightspace, Open edX and Sakai. The exact administration screens differ by LMS, but the core process remains the same: configure the Clover VDI LMS settings, register the external tool in the LMS, exchange the required identifiers and keys, then add the tool to the course.

Keep responsibilities clear

LMS integration is an administrator task because it affects platform-wide trust and configuration. Instructors use the resulting course integration but do not need access to global LMS settings. They can concentrate on groups, templates, learner assignments and virtual labs.

Before going live

  1. Confirm the public Clover VDI URL and web-access configuration.
  2. Use HTTPS for production deployments.
  3. Verify the LMS issuer, client ID, deployment ID and key configuration.
  4. Test with a small course and separate administrator, instructor and learner accounts.
  5. Confirm that the expected group and lab access appears for each role.

Follow the Clover VDI administrator guide for the detailed LMS steps and platform-specific course setup.
