{"id":10017,"date":"2026-09-17T16:21:30","date_gmt":"2026-09-17T14:21:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/clover-vdi.com\/doc\/documentation\/clover-vdi-overview\/clover-vdi-overview-prerequisites\/"},"modified":"2026-09-17T16:21:33","modified_gmt":"2026-09-17T14:21:33","slug":"clover-vdi-overview-prerequisites","status":"publish","type":"manual_documentation","link":"https:\/\/clover-vdi.com\/doc\/documentation\/clover-vdi-overview\/clover-vdi-overview-prerequisites\/","title":{"rendered":"Prerequisites"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"toctoc\"><\/div>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prepare a Windows or Ubuntu host with Docker, then prepare at least one supported workload platform before starting the installation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Clover host<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>A <strong>Windows<\/strong> computer or server with Docker Desktop, or an <strong>Ubuntu<\/strong> server with Docker Engine.<\/li><li>Administrator access on Windows or sudo access on Ubuntu.<\/li><li>Docker installed, running and configured to start containers.<\/li><li>A stable IP address or DNS name for user access.<\/li><li>Port <strong>8080<\/strong>, or the selected Clover web port, permitted by the host firewall.<\/li><li>Outbound network access for downloading the required container image.<\/li><li>Persistent storage and regular backups for the Clover application data.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Workspace infrastructure<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After installing Clover, configure at least one infrastructure provider:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Proxmox<\/strong> for Ubuntu or Windows virtual-machine templates.<\/li><li><strong>Kubernetes<\/strong> for Docker-based container templates.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prepare the provider endpoint, credentials, certificates and network access before opening the corresponding settings page. See <a href=\"https:\/\/clover-vdi.com\/doc\/documentation\/clover-vdi-administrator\/clover-vdi-administrator-infrastructure\/\"><strong>Configure Your Infrastructure<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">CPU, memory, disk and network capacity must be sized for the number of simultaneous users and the workloads assigned to each
